Executive Networks Research Shows HR Focus on Organization Agility and Digital Leadership

Executive Networks, Inc., the leading provider of knowledge insight networks for senior HR executives, reported its research on the most pressing issues HR leaders face. Executive Networks (EN) recently surveyed over 70 corporate and divisional Chief Human Resource Officers from the world’s largest global companies, including AstraZeneca, Prudential Financial, Infosys, Sanofi, Mars, Shell, and Vodafone. The survey was conducted in cooperation with IRC4HR.org, a well-respected research organization dedicated to advancing the state-of-the-art in human resource management.

These and other global companies are focused first and foremost on helping to drive corporate innovation and agility. According to Dr. Anna Tavis, Clinical Associate Professor of Human Capital Management, New York University and an Executive Director at EN, “Agile could never reach its full innovative potential without changing everything about the workplace, from physical environment to ways of collaborative working and a new incentive and recognition system”.

Second among HR leader priorities is determining how to structure and manage the digital employment experience. “Traditional controls, practices and policies for employees simply don’t apply to the digital employee”, says Ronald Schellekens, CHRO of Vodafone and Executive Networks member. “The digital employee is here to stay and we need new tools and approaches to ensure we can attract, retain and make productive our talent pool”.

Large, global companies are also investing heavily in human capital analytics capability. According to John Boudreau, Professor and Research Director, University of Southern California and Executive Director of EN’s Human Capital Analytics Network, “Accessing and understanding the rich pools of data companies have about their people is vital to remaining competitive. Recruiting, training, retention and productivity are better understood by examining this data to enable decisions that are fact based and testable”.
