Reworking the Revolution: How Organizations are Creating Workforce Agility in an AI World

Work is changing in profound new ways. Accenture research performed in collaboration with the World Economic Forum leaves little doubt that work and business will never be the same, begging the question, Is the enterprise prepared to respond meaningfully, and at scale?

Probably not. Organizational sensing reveals that only 12% of organizations are truly agile. Our experience helping organizations pivot to future­relevant workforce strategies bears that out. But HR has the opportunity to lead a revolution of agility by providing evidence­based decision support on new workforce options to business leaders throughout the organization.

This session will review some of our research findings before presenting specific examples of how HR leaders are using data­driven insights to reshape their future workforce. Optimizing between the opportunities to use artificial intelligence (AI) and other technologies that augment people’s capabilities, detection and adaptive sourcing of new ‘hot’ skills, and reskilling people results in comprehensive workforce strategies and agile options that are relevant to the present day and the future.

As global Managing Director of Accenture’s organization and people analytics business, Dr. Michael Bazigos helps longterm performance in client companies through organizational strategies fueled by the best analytics available. Using rigorous analytics and human expertise, his team helps leaders take the highest­probability path to performance through data­driven insights, predominantly in the areas of future workforce (including automation estimation, adaptive workforce relevance and new skills prediction), enterprise agility, transformation strategy, organizational culture, health, ethics and mergers.

Michael holds a US Patent for a new method to matching skill proficiencies to skill demand. He is published in the McKinsey Quarterly, Journal of Leadership Studies, Journal of Organizational Change Management, People + Strategy Journal, and Group and Organizational Management. He has presented at several global conferences and is a member of the executive advisory of Human Resources People and Strategy organization (HRPS). Previous roles include VP OrgSolutions, McKinsey & Co; Co­Founder, McKinsey & Gallup Initiative in Organizational Science; and HR Executive Director, KPMG among others.

 

Michael has a Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University, a Master’s degree in Industrial Psychology from New York University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Pace University. He has taught as an adjunct Professor at Columbia.

 

He is a lifelong New Yorker who enjoys his family, global travel, performing stand­up comedy, playing chess and tennis, visiting New York City’s great museums, theater, the beach, vacationing in Greece (his ancestral home), and meditating.
